This program is designed to determine the water quality in the Port of Altamira navigation cannels.

Reforestation of areas in the environmental barrier

This program is to reforest areas within the environmental barrier, port land, the shore and wetlands, in accordance with the Port of Altamira reforesting plan, with a goal of planting 51,000 plants a year.

Promoting Port of Altamira environmental activities

This program seeks to develop an environmental port culture and to promote API’s image as a socially responsible company, committed to the environment. Port of Altamira environmental activities are promoted to all of the port’s clients and visitors, with a goal of at least 2,500 people during 2008.

Protecting marine species that are in danger of extinction, that temporarily or permanently live within the Port of Altamira facilities

This program seeks to conserve marine species that are in danger of extinction in the areas near the Port of Altamira. Its goal is to assist the environmental authority’s personnel assigned to the turtle campground in the Port of Altamira, during the 2008 season.
