Guided tours to the Port of Altamira are geared towards students from local schools in the Tampico-Madero-Altamira area, from all of Mexico and even from foreign institutions.

Description and length of the tour:

The tour beings when you enter the Port Facilities, crossing through the maritime customs inspection checkpoint, continuing on to the west where the maritime terminals and service providers are installed; following this, the bus travels to the Industrial Park (or Development Area) along De los Rios Boulevard. Finally, the eastern terminals, where bulk liquids are handled, are toured from the outside. The tour lasts approximately 1 hour. Handouts are provided to students.

Once the tour date is confirmed, send a letter on official letterhead, signed by an authorized school official and addressed to José Julián Dip Leos, General Director of the Altamira Port Authority

The letter must include the following:

• Date and time of the tour

• School, grade and/or field of study

• Number of visitors

• Chaperone’s name

• Information for vehicle to be used during tour: license plates and name of driver.
