The Manager of API Altamira; Mr. Rodriguez Montemayor, realized a tour in one of the specialized loading and unloading of containerized cargo terminal; Altamira Terminal Portuaria (ATP), in order to supervise the work and operations carried out.
ATP is a public multi-use terminal which began operations in 1995 and today operates nearly 19% of total cargo in the Port. It also has 2 springs 300 meters each and has a draft of 40 feet (12.19 meters deep), which allows the arrival of large vessels.
In other hand with the port equipment, ATP recently added 2 new ones; “Side Loader” Sany equipment, same that will be useful in terms of optimizing space within their yards working, allowing streamline port operations.
At the end of the tour, the Manager of API, said that the acquisition of new equipment has a positive influence to maintain and improve the service to their clients, helping in the environment preservation by reducing fuel consumption and emissions air, putting the Port of Altamira as a highly profitable option to invest.
