Today at API Altamira, it took place the 4th Interagency Coordination Meeting between the Port Authority of Altamira, the Maritime and Port Incident Unified Service Center (CUMAR) and Altamira Custom. The meeting was leaded by representatives from each agency, including the manager of API: Mr. Jose Carlos Rodriguez, the Altamira Custom administrator: Mr. Baruc de la Fuente and Vice Admiral CG DEM. Fernando Arturo, Commander of the First Naval Zone, and coworkers of each entity.
The main purpose of this meeting was to analyze and evaluate specific actions to ensure safe operational work within the Fiscal and Port area, to safeguard the security in the Port.
CUMAR was created to coordinate actions to assure the protection , port security and maritime prosperity , therefore, some mechanisms were analyzed to increase efficiency levels, in the transportation of goods as well as maritime and port activities, as derived from the influx of cargo flows is vital to establish controls to ensure users safety.
Mr. Rodríguez Montemayor, Director of API, said it will continue working closely with different institutions and organisms, to provide safety operations in the port of Altamira.
