During the first semester of the year, the Port of Altamira registered a Total Cargo Movement of 7.9 million tons.
Containerized Cargo increased 2% compared to the same period in 2011, meaning that more than 2.4 million tons were handled 288 thousand TEU´S were received which represents a 4% more than 2011.
Break-bulk increased 56% compared to 2011 translated into a total of 836 thousand tons registered in this Port from January to June.
Petrochemicals fluids registered 2.6 million tons, representing a 6% rise. The Port also attended 869 vessels during this first semester of the year in the different specialized terminals that operate in the Port.
Mineral Bulk registered 1.8 million tons, and Agri-Bulk reports 150 thousand tons, 76% more than 2011.
Vehicles reflect a 17% rise, meaning 23,438 units.
