Canadian National Railway Company visited the Port of Altamira

In recent days, managers of Canadian National Railway Company visited the Port of Altamira to know the competitive advantages, where they could know the port infrastructure progress and the projects for this 2014, furthermore the plans in a short and medium term.

Canadian National of Mexico is a railway company that has its main offices in Montreal, Quebec. It is currently the only company that connects Canada, the United States and with rail and sea trade alliances, accesses the Mexican market business. Furthermore, they have more than 21,000 miles of rails that allows them to approach more than 75% of the population located in North America and all around the world, handling all types of cargo from heavy, large, perishable even dangerous.

The Managing Director of API Altamira: Engineer Jose Carlos Rodriguez, presented all the advantages in the intermodal transport which give so many benefits to the Port, due to the excellent geographical position, allowing to diversify the users logistic chains.

At the end of the meeting, he said that Altamira has connection by rail and road with regions that generates the 70% of the Mexican domestic product, mainly at northeast and the center of the country. He also remarked the fact of strengthen trades with Canada and tokeep with the railway expansion sector, increasing the attraction of cargo to the Port of Altamira.
