The port of Altamira surpassed the 13.5 tons of cargo in October.
Cargo in containers reported an increasing activity, 4 million tons. In terms of TEUs were reached 491,961, surpassing by 7% the same period of 2011, due to increased volume of terephthalic acid, PVC, auto parts,cement and other products.
In Breakbulk cargo, there was a noticeable increase compared to the previous year, 33%, generated by the operation of steel products and project cargo. They were also mobilized 31, 705 cars.
Fluids accumulate 4.3 million tons, the main products handled were: Liquefied Natural Gas, Paraxylene, Styrene, VCM, butadiene, amongst others.
The Mineral Bulk exceeded 3.4 million tons, Fluorite, Coke, Coal, Iron Ore and Urea were some of the most representative of this type of cargo.
The agricultural bulk, has also an increase compared to the same period last year, this year moved 286,000 tons of corn seed from South Africa and the USA.
The Port has served at the end of October 1.316 vessels with commercial operation.
