PROFEPA performs actions to promote National Environmental Audit Program at the Port of Altamira

A meeting was held at API Altamira with officials of the Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection (PROFEPA), in order topromote among firms that are installed within the Port of Altamira , the National Environmental Audit Program.

Because of the work tour in southern Tamaulipas, the PROFEPA Delegate in the State; Dr. Miguel de la Rosa Medrano, was attended a meeting with representatives of the different terminals installed at the Port, where they talked about the different strategies that promote proper environmental culture that allows to perform actions on the environment within industrial companies ofthe Port. They discussed strategies such as the ComprehensiveDevelopment Policy, SustainableWater Management, Strengthening climatechange policy and the environmentcare and protectionof natural heritage.

Thanks to this meeting, the companies that are nearthe port area, could receive important information that will allow them to be able to getcertified by the PROFEPA and inthis way get the recognition as Clean Port and be the first port inthe Gulf of Mexico to obtain important distinction.

With these actions, the Port of Altamira ratifies the commitment that the Authority and the Port Communityhave for sustainable development.
