In front of an important group of national and international investors, as well as various federal public officials of the governments of Mexico and the United States, on May 29th in Mexico City, Mr. José Carlos Rodriguez; Manager of API Altamira, made a presentation of the Port in the Transportation and Telecommunications Forum, called ConnectMEX; event organized by the Trade and Development Agency of the United States.
Rodriguez Montemayor´s participation was in the panel Opportunities Port Infrastructure, where he participated with the Director of the Port of Guaymas;Eduardo Chavez, the International Trade Specialist of the U.S. Embassy in Mexico, Alicia Herrera; as well as the architect Fernando Gamboa; Manager of Public Works and General Coordination of Ports and Merchant Marine, serving as moderator of the event;Bruce Prommersberger.
At the forum, Mexico and the United States attendees, had the opportunity to meet the competitive advantages offered by the Port of Altamira, thanks to its privileged geographical location, and the extensive land reserves that has for the attraction of new investments for the petrochemical, processing and mechanical metal industry.
Also the different projects of public and private works that are being taken and the ones planned for this year were presented. Such as the expansion and growth projects in the short and medium term, which allow guaranteeing a port with modern infrastructure that is required for shipping lines operations.
Finally, the Port Director, made a commitment to work together and attract new industrial and freight projects to consolidate the growth of Altamira, according to the statement by Mr. Guillermo Ruiz de Teresa; General Coordinator of Ports and Marine Merchant.
