The Port of Altamira by the end of November has mobilized 14.7 million tons in the public and private terminals that are installed at the Port, which 10.6 million represents import cargo and 4.1 million export cargo.
Talking about containerized cargo, 4.4 million tons were operated in November, which means 3% more than last year, in the most important loads we can emphasize autoparts, roll, sheet, steel products and resins for the production of plastics, among other products.
This cargo volume increased 6% of TEUs achieving to operate 536.569 by November.
Referring to loose cargo, a significant 36% increase was obtained compared to the handling of the previous year, in the mobilized products we have; automobiles, steel pipes, machinery and load beams.
The Port of Altamira in fluids operation remains positioned as the leader in this type of cargo with a total of 4.6 million tons, the highest operating products are liquefied natural gas, paraxylene, styrene, among other basic commodities of the industries in the area.
In the agricultural bulk, there was an increase of 137%, which represents a cumulative movement of 302 000 tons, mainly imports of white corn.
The Port has become a strategic point for handling cars, at the end of November 32.520 units were mobilized, mostly for export.
